A perimenopause retreat is only worth the week if it is built for the physiology of the years around menopause. That means bloodwork before you arrive (thyroid panel, sex hormones, iron, vitamin D, fasting insulin, HbA1c), practitioners who work with women in this phase every day, and a plan that keeps moving after you leave. Not a spa week with a hormone-shaped label.
The week, week by week
Days one to two: intake and baseline. Sleep, HRV, symptom map, current cycle pattern where relevant. Nutrition set to blood-sugar stability, protein forward. Strength work introduced gently, cardio kept aerobic.
Days three to five: the work. Contrast therapy, breathwork for vasomotor symptoms, targeted supplementation only where indicated by labs, one longer strength block, one nature block. Sleep protocol tightened each evening.
Days six to seven: the taper and the plan. Bloods repeated where useful. A four-week home rhythm written by your Kaer Taker.
What a good week does not include
Group circles as the main modality. Off-the-shelf hormone kits. Anyone promising to "balance" hormones in seven days.
