Pre Kaer: Preparing You for a Transformative Journey

As you prepare to start with your Kaer experience, we want to thank you for your trust and openness in joining us on this transformative journey. To support you in making the most of this upcoming retreat, we’ve curated a selection of preparation exercises, a packing list and some more important information. Each element of this pre-Kaer package is thoughtfully designed to help you enter the experience with clarity, presence, and an open heart, ready to embrace the insights and breakthroughs that await you.

ARRIVE, SETTLE, AND BEGIN

Your Arrival Information

Upon your arrival at the airport, our Kaer chauffeur and Nienke, your Kaer Taker, will be there to greet you (look for the 'Kaer’ sign). You'll be driven directly to the Caravan By Habitas Agafay (about 45 min drive). She will assist with your check-in and ensure you're comfortably settled in, so you can start your retreat worry-free. Should you need to contact Nienke upon your arrival or at any point during your journey, you can reach her at: +31 6 36 05 88 00.

PREPARE, PACK, AND START

What To Pack

- Lightweight, breathable clothing: Loose-fitting, comfortable clothes suitable for warm weather. - Layers for cooler evenings: A light jacket or shawl for cooler nights. - Warm Sweater or jacket: for cooler nights. - Comfortable shoes: Sandals or lightweight hiking shoes for walking on varied terrain. - Sport outfit and shoes: For yoga and meditation lessons. - Swimwear: For spa and relax moments. - Hat or cap: To protect from the sun. - Scarf or shawl: Useful for sun protection. - Sunscreen: High SPF for protection against the sun. - Reusable water bottle: Stay hydrated in the desert.

A Special Message from Bruno, Your Leading Facilitator

To truly disconnect from everything you've built around you in daily life, I encourage you to organize things in a way that allows you to keep your phone off and avoid work during the retreat. This will help you be fully present and make the most of your experience. I will guide you through a deeply transformative process, using sound healing and meditation to expand your awareness and help you connect with yourself on a deeper level. You’ll engage in sound healing concerts, meditation classes and experience unforgettable moments. Your breath and body will lead you on an incredibly inspiring inner journey, allowing you to shift and transform in the moment. I encourage you to keep sharing and communicating your process and experience throughout, so that I can support and guide you in the best way possible. Change and transformation don’t just happen automatically, they require bravery, commitment and determination.

1. Breathing Exercise

We invite you to begin your transformation with a series of carefully selected preparation exercises. These are designed to help you tune into your body, clear your mind, and set a positive foundation for the retreat experience. Breathing Exercise: 4-7-8 breathing technique Inhale for 4. Hold for 7. Exhale for 8. Discover the power of the 4-7-8 breathing technique, a simple yet effective method for stress relief. By regulating your breathing in this specific pattern, you can calm your mind and reduce stress by managing your body's cortisol levels. Start by practicing this breathing exercise for at least four cycles, which should take roughly one to two minutes. As you become more comfortable with the technique, you can gradually increase the duration to up to five minutes, or continue until you feel your stress levels significantly decrease.

2. Creative visualization

We invite you to begin your transformation with a series of carefully selected preparation exercises. These are designed to help you tune into your body, clear your mind, and set a positive foundation for the retreat experience. Creative visualization can stimulate the brain's reticular activating system (RAS), which filters information and influences your focus and perception. This exercise can help you visualize success, boost confidence, and reduce stress. Exercise: Reflection questions: What specific goal or situation do you want to visualize? What emotions and sensations do you associate with success in this scenario? Exercise: Close your eyes, relax, and vividly imagine yourself succeeding in a specific situation. Visualize every detail and the positive emotions associated with it. Learning moments: Observe how creative visualization affects your confidence, focus, and stress levels, especially when facing real-life challenges.
