Antoni Esteva, a renowned architect from Mallorca, and his designer colleague Jaume Danus, acquired the largest farm estate on the island, located in a vast natural park along the east coast. Their creation, Es Racó d'Artà, is exceptional. More than just a hotel, it’s an art gallery where guests are welcome to stay. The beautifully restored buildings are reminiscent of works by the artist Richard Serra. The experience at Es Racó d'Artà extends beyond its aesthetic charm. Guests can enjoy relaxing watsu pool sessions and rooms designed with nature as inspiration. The true essence of the place lies in its ability to instill a sense of calm and peace of mind. This is achieved through activities like nature walks, morning meditations, wellness workshops, and simply soaking in the beauty of the surrounding environment.
Es Racó is a unique enclave located near the Mallorcan town of Artà. A place that was born as a dream of its creators who, inspired by the environment, nature and the essence of the island, have turned Es Racó into their most personal legacy. A melting pot of colours and textures, a thousand and one smells and flavours, music created by the sounds of nature... in connection with art and architecture through respect and sustainability. A destination to discover and be inspired in every little corner.
At "Sanum Per Aquam," the unique and essential role of water in human well-being is showcased. Guests are invited to awaken their senses and indulge in exclusive spa treatments. The skilled hands of the therapists, combined with the selection of premium products, offer an escape from the confines of time and space. The spa prides itself on its commitment to sustainability, utilizing natural cosmetic products, predominantly produced onsite, and employing geothermal technology for energy generation.
In the serene yoga room at Es Racó d'Artà, guests are welcomed into a space thoughtfully designed for exclusive experiences and lasting memories. Here, seasoned instructors guide individuals through a journey of continuous learning and self-discovery. The room, infused with tranquility, fosters creativity and inspiring exchanges, connecting visitors with the rich Mallorcan traditions and the picturesque surroundings.
Es Racó d'Artà, with its roots in the 13th century and earlier as a Berber settlement named Beni Axir, Beni Said, or "sons of those who are happy," has a deep historical significance. This rich heritage inspired the naming of the farm's gastronomic section, paying tribute to the influences that shaped its evolution and cuisine. The origins of Mediterranean cuisine, dating back five thousand years to Mesopotamia, Asia Minor, and Egypt, have greatly influenced the farm's culinary practices, including beer brewing, wheat cultivation, bread production, vine growing, beekeeping, legume and vegetable cultivation, and fishing.
At Es Racó, architect Antoni Esteva, known for his work on many Mallorca landmarks, has brought his unique style to new heights. He's worked on projects like artist Miquel Barcelo's home, the historic Son Gener hotel, and Joan Miró's house in Palma. His design at Es Racó pays homage to Mallorca's traditional architecture and relaxed way of life, capturing what Esteva calls 'the Mallorca we miss.' His main inspiration? Nature and quietness. This sense of peace is a big part of the design, both inside and out.
At Es Raco d’Arta, guests are invited to immerse themselves in the breathtaking beauty of Mallorca, perfectly captured by the stunning infinity pool with its panoramic views. This tranquil oasis is more than just a pool; it's a gateway to harmony and balance.
