1. Can you start by telling a bit about your journey and what inspired you to become a facilitator for Kaer?
I met a monk when I was 16, and being naturally curious, this encounter sparked an urge in me to explore the path of meditation. I was taken to a Zendo (Zen Dojo), where I immediately dove into the deep end, required to sit in silence for 90 minutes straight. As someone who has always been busy and active, this experience of controlling my breath and focusing on the 'Here and Now' had a profound impact on my body and mind. It was so special that I decided then and there to delve deeper into the realms of well-being.
2. How do you think your personal experiences have shaped your approach in guiding others?
I believe that the essence of practice lies in removing oneself from the equation. In this way, the concept of 'non-self' has profoundly shaped my approach to guidance, more than anything else. This approach involves bringing people together and serving them without any expectations. However, it was my parents who truly ingrained in me the value of service to others. Their influence has been the most impactful. After practicing for some time, the values instilled by my parents naturally led me to share my practice with others.
3. How would you describe 'transformational travel' to someone who's never experienced it?
By being more curious and playful, one can realize the magic in simple things.
4. What special skills or knowledge do you bring to the retreats that make them extra special for participants?
Fun, a listening ear, curiosity, sound healing, the ritualization of everyday habits, intriguing biohacks, guided meditation, Yoga, breathwork, journaling workshops, and knowledge of Chinese, African, and Indian philosophies of the energy body.
5. What can participants expect to gain from these retreats in terms of personal growth and well-being?
Outcomes from the practices, whether minor or significant, can be implemented to add a touch of magic to your life. They enhance your ability to connect with the environment and the people around you, encouraging movement with purpose, volition, and power.
Any personal decision to change will be amplified during this retreat. Additionally, the retreat offers new perspectives on your current environment, stimulating internal changes as well as encouraging you to consider external transformations. If your goal is not to change but simply to 'be', that’s perfectly acceptable. You'll find the space to exist in the 'Here and Now', free from the pressure of transformation.
