Discovering the Power of Breath: Rens' Journey with Kaer
"Breath work is a gateway to mindfulness. It allows us to shift our attention inward, observe our thoughts, and choose how we respond to life’s challenges instead of reacting out of stress or fear"
Rens' path to becoming a facilitator for Kaer started with a passion for fitness. From a young age, he focused on physical well-being, but as he matured, his approach became more holistic. "I realized that having a resilient body is only part of the equation. A calm mind is just as essential if we want to age healthily and pursue our passions," Rens explains. This realization inspired him to dive deeper into mindfulness and well-being, eventually leading him to facilitate retreats that focus on personal growth and inner balance. For Rens, breath work is at the heart of his retreats. He describes breath work as a simple yet powerful tool that can make a significant impact on our daily lives. "Breath work helps regulate the nervous system and offers a chance to let go of fear and doubt," he explains. In Kaer's retreats, such as the one held in Portugal, participants engage in deep relaxation and breathwork sessions that guide them toward a more grounded and centered state of being. With a background in personal training, Rens brings a unique perspective to his work at Kaer. "I offer personalized attention and fitness classes that are inclusive for all levels," he explains. His goal is to help people feel better and stronger, both physically and mentally, as they navigate their personal journeys. Rens sees his role not only as a facilitator but as a companion who walks alongside participants on their path to growth. "I’m there to guide, but also to support participants in their transformation. It’s about feeling ready to face life with courage and trust".
"Master your Mind is really about remembering who you truly are," Rens shares. "It’s about shedding old patterns and embracing the self-care that we all deserve."
The Impact of Breathwork on Personal Growth
"With 70 thousand thoughts racing through our minds each day, it’s so easy to lose track of the present moment"
During Kaer’s programs, participants dive deeply into various breath work techniques, such as pranayama, resonance frequency breathing, and conscious connected breath work. These practices are designed to promote self-discovery and empowerment. "After five days of breath work, participants feel more centered, relaxed, and in tune with themselves," Rens shares. The aim is to help individuals slow down, take a break from the stress of daily life, and reconnect with the simple pleasures of living. For Rens, retreats are more than just a chance to relax—they are an opportunity to reconnect with what truly matters. Kaer offers a way to slow down and tune into the body and mind, creating space for deeper reflection and growth. "It's an emotional and spiritual journey as much as it is a physical one," Rens says. Participants leave with a greater understanding of themselves and a renewed sense of purpose, ready to bring the practices they’ve learned back into their everyday lives.
